In October 2009, I interviewed several of the top West Side Realtors to list my home near Arbutus and West 61st Avenue, in Vancouver, BC. Out of all of the proposals I received, your package was the most complete, and comparables were the most accurate. I decided to hire you as my listing agent.
The sale of my home came at the most difficult time for a seller in the current market situation. The real estate market had just encountered a major correction on the downside, particularly for higher priced homes and the West side area.
Many of his competitors, tried to convince me to list the house for $300,000 lower than my expectations were. I believe those agents were trying to list my house lower, to get a quick sale in a tough market. I valued my home, and did not agree. Without telling Paul my experience, his proposal on the list price was in line with mine, and I immediately hired him.
Paul listed the house for the price I requested. He devoted his focus to my property, held open houses consistently, and aggressively marketed the area with ad campaigns in mail outs, and the local newspapers.
The sale of my home was also very difficult, as it was a result of my divorce. This was heartbreaking for me, as it involved my children, and a home in which I was attached to, and had many fond memories.
Not only was the financial stress over-whelming, but I was dealing with a tremendous amount of emotional stress involved with the sale of the house. As in any divorce, communication was difficult at times for all of us. Paul had to deal with many issues involving the sale of the house between my ex-husband and I. There were times, when I had to meet with Paul and my emotions were broken down and I was in tears.
Not only did Paul act professionally, he acted personally. He always offered his friendship in the process, should I need it. He offered a shoulder, he wasn’t aggressive at inappropriate times, and I truly felt his motives were to work to the best of his efforts for me. He proved to me, it was my best interests he was looking out for.
Paul sold my home within two months of the list date for a price I was quite satisfied with. He also added many beneficial features to the closing details and the contract. Again, for my benefit, and beyond his call of duty as a Realtor.
